    About Us:

    As a Christian organisation, with a heritage of service spanning 160 years, we serve older people and those who are vulnerable or marginalised by providing a range of accommodation, care and community services.

    About the Role:

    Reporting directly to the Village Manager, the new Full-Time role of Village Gardener is responsible for all gardening duties including garden renovations, minor landscaping projects to mulching, weeding, watering and assisting with tree care.

    Key responsibilities:

    •Ensures that grounds and gardens are maintained to a high standard;
    •Treat all people in a courteous, professional and Christian manner;
    •Contribute to the support of residents by providing appropriate assistance and quality service as required, and with respect to dignity and privacy;
     •Contribute to the development of the safety culture by keeping the workplace safe, clean and tidy, complying with site safety rules;
    •Participate in workplace consultation activities and actively participating in any other safety activities as prescribed in the WHSIMS.

    Skills, knowledge and experience needed:

  • Good knowledge of garden maintenance incl plant ID and pest and disease identification
  • Good communication skills
  • Uniform and Tools provided
  • Regular income, consistent hours and one location
