Anglicare has an opportunity for a motivated Leader to join our organisation managing our Disaster Recovery program across NSW. Anglicare is a Community Partner supports NSW communities through times of natural disasters and any large-scale emergencies requiring care and support for evacuees.

About the role:
This role will incorporate a mixture of both proactive project and community work through active engagement with community groups and local Churches and Ministers to increase volunteer numbers, as well as working in a reactive environment during times of disaster requiring your resilience and strong leadership experience.
You will provide operational support to communities across NSW during activations and offer proactive briefings on potential major emergencies for regional and pastoral personnel.
Reporting to the Manager of Advocacy and Research, you will have the support from a team of Regional Disaster Recovery Coordinators across NSW and will in turn be competent in leading regional teams through providing clear and strategic direction, training and support.
This is a significantly autonomous role and will involve participating in weekend and out of hours work. The DR Manager will be expected to manage their time given the high propensity of emergency call outs during the summer months for fires and winter for floods, storms and other emergencies and the need to be available during significant natural disasters occurring within NSW. Significant travel throughout NSW may occur from time to time and a company supplied and maintained vehicle is included
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Extensive prior experience in Disaster Recovery or Volunteers management
- Proven track record in managing and growing a volunteer workforce
- Experience leading a team
- Tertiary qualifications in Business, HR, Psychology or related field
- Have strong networking skills with the ability to build positive and long-lasting relationships with internal teams, Volunteers, local communities and the Anglican Diocese
