About the role:
Located in the Eastern Suburbs of Sydney, within the Woollahra Retirement Village is the newly established Goodwin Café - created for our beautiful residents and a meeting place for all residents, family and customers at the Village.
Our team are seeking a Chef who will be responsible for ensuring a high standard of food and service to our valued customers through the preparation of quality ingredients and exceptional café meals.
In this role you will work in a vibrant team of hospitality professionals, passionate about providing a great service in the village community.

Key responsibilities (not limited to):
* You will contribute to the café menu, plan and coordinate operations, assess customer preferences, provide a variety of options, and give consideration to nutritional content for our loved residents, family and customers, in consultation with the Retirement Living Manager.
*Menu requirements will be met by processing orders for provisions, raw ingredients, dry stores and products.
*Ensure optimum food quality by checking ingredients, monitoring preparation, cooking and storage procedures. Your dedication to improving food quality, work practices, procedures, and cleanliness standards will be an important contribution in this role.
*Providing leadership and mentoring for our team and on-the-job training for Café staff
*Work in a cooperative way with all staff and demonstrate a warm, friendly approach to our loved residents, families and customers.
*Ensure safe work practices are carried out within the safety, health, hygiene and cleanliness standards of Anglicare and the relevant health authorities, including HACCP and WHS policies.
Skills and Experience:
*Commercial Cookery Certificate (highly regarded) and exceptional service
*Minimum 4 years’ food industry experience (preferable)
*Strong communication and organisation skills
