About the role:

Reporting into the Manager of Social Policy Research Unit (SPRU) and working as part of the wider Customer Experience team, you will be the primary point of contact between Anglicare and all media management. This role will have the support of a Media Officer, and be accountable for their development across all areas of public affairs. You will coordinate all PR activities, develop policy positions and media releases on key issues, manage media inquiries and develop an effective media relations strategy across print, radio and digital to strengthen our position.

Networking and stakeholder management will be one of your key strengths as you seek to develop and maintain partnerships with government bodies, the Diocese, Anglicare Australia Media Network, donors and volunteers. You will have developed advanced written and verbal skills with the ability to create content for different audiences across press releases, byline articles and keynote presentations and will be confident participating in interviews.

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Be aligned to Anglicare’s Christian values, vision and mission to ensure you are able to enhance partnerships amongst church communities
  • Have obtained relevant tertiary qualifications in Communications or Public Policy
  • Have solid experience within Public Affairs and knowledge of the political environment
  • Be experienced in designing public relations campaigns
  • Have an extensive understanding of media needs and relationships
  • Be capable of environmental scanning, monitoring and resolving emerging issues
