The role has incredible purpose! How? 

The Service Improvement & Support Lead is the engine room for the Counselling, Mediation and Youth team (CMYS) by providing business support, managing contractual and reporting obligations, reviewing service and operational outputs and workflows, plans for and reviews staff and financial resourcing, interrogates and tracks data required for reporting, service improvement, financial stewardship, and growth. 

Key responsibilities will include (but not limited to):  

  • Works with the CMYS Leadership to identify, analyse, and address challenges and opportunities in achieving service delivery targets and key performance indicators, with the goal to improve workforce efficiencies, outputs, and the client experience. 

  • Establishes systems to track and measure service targets against performance on a daily, weekly, monthly, annual basis to ensure current and future service provision, planning and performance uplift. 

  • Uses data to inform appropriate recruitment and workforce planning for CMYS in line with Community and Mission business plans. 

  • Demonstrates professional, aligned, and capable leadership in line with the organisation’s Christian vision, mission, values, and strategy. 

  • Works with the CMYS Leadership team in developing and managing internal and external stakeholder relationships to increase collaboration and partnerships. 

  • Uses data to produce engaging and relevant reports for internal and external audiences. 

  • Provides a point of contact for liaison with internal and external stakeholders, monitoring, directing, and responding to requests for information.   

  • Governance/Compliance by creating and maintaining a contract and records management system for CMYS to ensure contract compliance across all programs. 

  • Work alongside CMYS Leadership and CaM Finance team to deliver financial support and analysis including accounts payable, receivable and credit card reconciliation functions. 

  • Implements organisational systems, processes, and communication channels to provide support, create operational efficiencies, ensure data integrity, and encourage team collaboration. 

  • Engages in business support and planning with CMYS Leadership team to support the execution of strategic and operational objectives. 

Key Skills: 

  • Leadership and relational skills, with a desire to support high performance teams and ability to analyse issues, establish a course of action and adopt a proactive attitude. 

  • Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision, as well as cooperatively with others as required to support the achievement of individual and team goals. 

  • Strong interpersonal communication and negotiation skills, both written and verbal, including the ability to develop and maintain sound working relationships with a range of stakeholders. 

  • Consistent initiative, discretion, judgement, and tact of a high level, with the ability to maintain confidentiality in dealing with issues of a sensitive or personal nature. 

Qualifications and Experience Required: 

  • Must hold relevant qualifications or relevant workplace experience (5+ years) in business administration, service management or contract and data management with experience in business improvement or service review. 

  • Experience in leading a service delivery team - highly desirable in a faith based, community services or mental health context. 

  • Highly proficient in the use of technology including Microsoft Office Suite, Power BI, and other data systems, with the ability to generate and manipulate data and reports to present information in a wide range of contexts. 

  • Strong administrative experience including excellent time management, planning and analysis skills, the ability to think laterally and work under pressure to achieve deadlines in an environment with competing priorities, whilst maintaining a high attention to detail. 

  • Current, unrestricted NSW licence and a willingness to drive between sites as required. 

  • NSW Working with Children Check and successful National Police Check.
