Clinical Nurse Consultant -Dementia

Opportunity for a personable Clinical Nurse Consultant specialising in Dementia to join our organisation. This role will focus on Multiple Locations (North-West, Southwest, Northen beaches) and you will work across the Residential Care to ensure our clients living with Dementia receive specialised care consistent with their wellbeing.

About the role:

Reporting into the Head of Clinical Services, you will be joining a dedicated and passionate team focused on the continuous development and improvement of the model of care for Aged Care Dementia clients and residents. You will work directly with our residential teams ensuring and residents to guide in managing behaviours and enhance our Rhythm of Life program – which is our philosophy of care.

Key responsibilities:

  • Support our Dementia residents through providing clinical reviews consistent with their wellbeing and our Rhythm of Life philosophy
  • Provide expert advice for complex health needs to our Managers, Allied Health staff and families of residents
  • Identify clinical education needs, participate in the delivery of education programs and develop educational resources for nursing and allied health staff
  • Contribute to the strategic and operational planning of the clinical services by keeping abreast of Dementia Care research, identifying future issues and new directions for Dementia Care, as well as on-going planning, implementation and evaluation of clinical nursing care services offered across Residential Care

Skills knowledge and experience:

  • Have current AHPRA Registration with a minimum of 10+ years post registration experience and have specialised within Dementia
  • Ideally have obtained a tertiary qualification in Dementia studies
  • Have a drivers licence and availability to travel across South -West facility locations
  • Be aligned to Anglicare’s Christian values, vision and mission in developing person-centred care
  • Excellent communication skills with a personable and professional approach when interacting with clients, families and staff
